The Victor Hugo Avenue

avenue Victor Hugo
This pleasant tree-lined avenue is one of the twelve branches of the Place de l’Étoile, between Avenue Foch and Avenue Kléber. Wealthy shoppers consider it a must since the avenue is bordered by prestigious boutiques. On a crossing street, African arts amateurs will enjoy the quiet Dapper muséum (35 bis rue Paul Valéry). The famous novelist and poet Victor Hugo lived his last years in a hotel on the avenue, so his mail was worded as such: “To M. Victor Hugo, At his own avenue, in Paris”. Just a little north, Paris’s ë widest street is also a branch of the “Star”., Avenue Foch leads to the Bois de Boulogne through a succession of rich Haussmann style mansions, making this avenue the most prestigious residential avenue in Paris
