We love Paris at night, when the city really lights up and everywhere you turn you find something happening. So for those of us who are more nightpeople and for those who are here on business and the only time they find for themselves is after the sun sets, don’t fret.
First up, the 16th of May is The Night of Museums, the night when museums around the city remain open till late, so make sure you check out nuitdesmusees.culture.fr for all participating museums. It is also, good to note that The Louvre is open till 10pm every Wednesday and Friday, while Musee d’Orsay opens till 9:45pm every Thursday.
For a cocktail in plush surroundings you’ll find no better bar than the Ritz Bar. Recently opened, the red velvet setting, lush armchairs, a fireplace and head bartender Colin Field’s famous cocktails. The bar attracts a beautiful crowd and every weekend there is a DJ live. The VIP Room, the exclusive club, recently reopened its doors on rue de Rivoli. Chic, private and huge, it is where you could completely get lost in the music. Favoured by celebs, including Eva Longoria and her husband, Tony Parker, L’Etoile offers a sublime view of the city from its secluded terrace and an intimate surrounding to have a little dance. For those looking for something a little less music-infused, head down to the Champs Elysées, aligned with cafés and restaurants and the Mecca of all cosmetic stores, Sephora. Carrying everything cosmetics-related for both men and women, it is a haven open till midnight Sunday to Thursday and till 1am every Friday and Saturday.
