Basilique du Sacre Coeur

One way to discover Paris

Climbing the endless steps to Sacré Coeur we quickly remember why so many tourists visit this beautiful city. Whether it’s your first or tenth time visiting the City of Light, you never fail to fall for its charm.

Atop the hill of Montmartre you will find the Basilica that was built in dedication to the Heart of Christ, an unusual offering at a time when many Basilical were dedicated to Mary. From here you are offered an exceptional view of the city, overlooking the rooftops of Paris and of course the Eiffel Tower. Behind the Basilica find the real heart of Paris with the cobbled Streets leading to the famous Place du Tertre, where artists gather to paint. Working your way down the hill, you will find Pigalle, the red-light district where only adults should venture to, but also where you will find the Moulin Rouge where you can watch the beautiful dancers cancan the night away.

A visit to the Eiffel Tower is a prerequisite for any first-timer in Paris, so make sure you queue up early, though the wait is most definitely worth it. We also suggest grabbing a table at any of the cafés around Trocadéro at nightfall to see it from a different angle as it sparkles and lights up the evening, a moment that even Parisians love no matter how many times you see it.
